[...] Giunto che serà a Roma lo rhinoceronte che manda a N. S. il Re di Portogallo, volemo che tu ne facci fare un retratto più simile e più naturale che sia possibile in forma picola, ma che cerchi di havere le mesure iuste de la alteza e longeza; acciochè volendolo noi fare pingere qui, habbiamo e la forma e la grandeza. E ce mandarai lo ditto retratto e mesure. Et il medesimo farai del elephante che è in Roma. [. . .]
