Baldassarre Castiglione, in Mantua, writes to Giulio Romano, in Rome, saying that he has sent the 'cuffiette' Giulio asked for and he has asked Andrea Piperario to find the money for the purchase of the Raphael 'quadro'.

Giulio carissimo. Non ho hauto prima che adesso comodità de mandarle li doi scuffiotti; hora le li mando de li meglio ch’io ho saputi trovare, e secondo che tu me scrivi. Vedi se hai voluntà de haver qualche altra cosa da le bande de qua. Non mi occorre dirti altro se non ch’io son sano, Dio gratia, e desidero vederti, né replicarò haver dato ordine a messer Andrea Piperario de’ danari per comprar qualche cosa per me, perché già l’ho scritto; e medesimamente del desiderio ch’io ho de haver il quadro che fu de maestro Antonio da Santo Marino. Però non dirò altro, se non che mi te raccomando, medesimamente a Giovan Francesco.
