Perugino writes to the Confraternity brothers of S. Maria dei Bianchi that the effective cost of the fresco of the Adoration of the Magi in their oratory would be 200 florins but that “chome paisano' he was prepared to accept half this sum.

La pentura che vonno fà nelle Oratorio de Desceprenate cie vorrieno a meno duciencto florenc. Io me contenctarò de ciencto, chome paisano ; venticinque scubeto, gl altre in tre ane, venticinque l’ano. Et si dicto contracto sta bene, me mande la poliza et le cuadrine, et serà facto et lo saluto.
