Baldassarre Turini, in Rome, writes to Goro Gheri, in Florence: Raphael is working exclusively on the Saint Michael and the Madonna, which will be finished at the end of next month and will be wonderful.

[...] Raphaello da Urbino si studia e lavora quanto può in servitio della Ex.a del Duca e dice che el quadro di S.to Michele e della Nostra Donna saranno finiti del tutto per tutto questo altro mese; e saranno sì belle figure e tanto bene adorne che reggeranno al martello et al paragone con qualunche altra figura si sia, e faranno honore a S. Ex.a. Lui lavora tutto el dì et ha postposto tutti li altri lavori che haveva nelle mani, sì che fatelo intendere a S. Ex.a et advisatela che non si manca di diligentia e sollicitudine, e molto si raccomanda alla sua bona gratia. [...]
