Private or educational use (within the classroom) is permitted provided that IRDS is acknowledged as the originator of this material. Users are asked to cite the url and the date on which a transcription was accessed.
The copyright of the transcription author should also be acknowledged. In the case of images, copyright normally remains with the archive and/or photographer who supplied the image. The copyright of images of works of art always remains with the museum or collector who owns that work of art, as also stated in each individual case. In the case of this pilot project, specific permissions have been granted for most personal photographs that have been reproduced. If, in any case the appropriate permission has not been obtained the publisher (IRDS) will be happy to correct the oversight.
